Custom Engraved Black Walnut Cutting Board

I love giving and receiving unique and personal gifts. Personalized gifts make the recipient feel like you’ve put a lot of thought and effort in choosing the perfect gift and you just didn't randomly run out and grab any old gift or a old reliable last resort gift card.

I was so excited when Personalized Cart approached me about reviewing one of their many products.  They left it all up to me to decide what I wanted to review from their product line which includes personalized products for the home, wedding gifts, for her, for him, for baby and special occasion gifts such as graduation and Christmas gifts as well.  It was such a tough decision as I wanted to sample a few of their products. I finally settled on their personalized cutting board for two reasons; I love to cook and entertain as well as being primarily a food blogger I wanted some of our dishes displayed on this beautiful black walnut cutting board with our blog name engraved in it.

The cutting board arrived about a week after ordering it and it was stunning; pictures do not do this board justice.  I am really not one to get excited about inanimate objects and really what is there to get excited about? It’s a board with my blog logo engraved in it! Well, I fell in love with it as it has a distinct woodsy scent, quite rustic looking, smooth and just perfectly engraved.  The wood grain colour ranges from pale to dark chocolate and if you look really close it has some hews of purple or reddish cast.

I choose the largest size available which is 18 inches wide by 12 long and slightly over an inch thick of strong black walnut. It almost killed me placing crackers, cheese, grapes and kielbasa on it since at the time of photographing it as I hadn't treated it yet with food grade mineral oil to bring out the beauty of the wood.  I carefully cut parchment paper so carefully to lay underneath all the food so it would not absorb any oils and stain.

I doubt I’ll ever be chopping anything on Personalized Carts personalized cutting board but you can bet that it will be used for serving when I am hosting parties and in many photos for future blog posts.  

I have to give Personalized Cart a shout out! Their customer service was exceptionally professional from taking the order, processing the order and notifying me that it has been shipped and on its way.
