Pumpkin Pie Rolls
A Holiday Dessert that combines your classic pumpkin pie with cinnamon rolls.
  • 1 Package Active Dry Yeast
  • 3/4 Cup Warm Water
  • 1/4 Cup Warm Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 2-3 Tbsp Sweetened Condesned Milk
  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar/Icing Sugar
  • 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 Tbsp Milk or Cream
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook combine warm water, yeast and 1 teaspoon of the sugar and allow the yeast to activate for 5-10 minutes. Once the yeast has activated add the remaining sugar, the butter and the egg. Mix until combined.Add the flour one cup at a time until the dough forms a smooth ball and pulls away from the sides of the mixing bowl. Knead the dough until the ball is smooth and bounces back when pressed with your finger. Allow the dough to rise for 20 minutes to an hour until the dough has doubled in size. Once the dough has risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle that measures roughly 14"x9". Next in a small mixing bowl combine the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice and sweetened condensed milk. Spread the pumpkin pie filling all over the dough rectangle leaving a 1 inch gap at the top for sealing the roll. Roll the dough into a tight log and then slice into 1-1 1/2 inch thick rolls and place into a non-stick baking pan. Allow the rolls to rise one more time for anywhere between 20 minutes and an hour. Preheat your oven to 350F and bake for 25-35 minutes or until golden brown. While the rolls are baking prepare your pumpkin spice glaze by combining the powdered sugar/icing sugar, vanilla, cream and pumpkin pie spice in a small mixing bowl and mixing until thick and smooth. When the Pumpkin Pie Rolls have turned golden brown take half of your pumpkin spice glaze and pour it over the rolls and allow it to bake into the rolls for 3-5 minutes. When you're ready to serve the pumpkin pie rolls add a little bit of glaze over the top and serve.
